On Saturday September 26th, Wayne County hosted an EV engagement in partnership with Rivian. There was a fantastic turnout, and we got to engage with many different residents on a variety of opportunities and issues relating to EV's.

After engaging with community members on their experiences with EV’s, there were two major themes that came afloat.

    1. Price of EV’s: Many residents expressed their discontent with the current price of EV’s. The residents that stopped by the stand mentioned that they were very unhappy about current gas prices and that EV’s would be helpful, however, the current starting price of EV’s was a pain point. Residents expressed a need for EV’s under $20k.

    1. Range Anxiety: Multiple residents approached the stand and expressed their excitement about EV technologies. The residents however mentioned that there wasn’t enough EV charger’s available to facilitate charging.

We hope through the process of this EV Roadmap that we are able to continue planning for these themes, and include all feedback into the final project.
